CBBN League Dual Meet @ Moses Lake
Tuesday September 14, 2010    •    Blue Heron Park, Moses Lake
3A Teams: Kamiakin, Pasco, Southridge, Sunnyside & West Valley
4A Teams: Chiawana, Eisenhower & Moses Lake

Results   •   Athletic.net Page   •   Course Map

Once the starting gun fired it was clear early on that Kamiakin and Eisenhower were both going to dominate their contests. The Eisenhower boys and girls placed all 5 of their scorers in the top 10. There were only 3 runners from the other 6 teams that broke into the top 10 in the varsity races and that dominance also continued in the Junior Varsity races where only 4 runners from the other teams made it into the top 10.
The girls were led by Mayra Chavez (1st) and Berenice Penaloza (2nd). The order of finish for the rest of the team was Elise Tello (6th), Katherine Bravo (7th), Alyssa Pena (9th), Tori Klein (12th) and Lindsy Thomas (24th). The top Kamiakin girls were Stephanie Rexus (3rd), Kaylee Brooks (4th), Michelle Fletcher (5th) and Sydney Blaser (10th). Rachel Dahl (8th) of Southridge was the sole top 10 finisher not from Kamiakin or Eisenhower.
Anthony Armstrong (Kamiakin) won the boys race followed by the trio of German Silva (2nd), Timothy Cummings (3rd) and Jaziel Rodriquez (4th) of Eisenhower. The rest of the Ike boys and their order of finish were Santos Vargas (6th), Delfino Dominquez (10th), Peter Troianello (16th) and Kyle Chapman (19th). Joining Anthony Armstrong in the top 10 for Kamiakin were Austin Richards (5th) and Phil Snyder (7th). Juan Reynoso (8th) from Sunnyside and Aaron Smith (9th) from Southridge rounded out the rest of the top 10 in the boys' Varsity race.
In a change of format this season, teams only score against teams in their own division even though both 3A and 4A teams compete in the same races. Eisenhower only competed against Chiawana and Moses Lake, thus there was no "official" score for the Kamiakin/Eisenhower matchup. Unofficially Eisenhower would of won both races by a score of 23-32 (boys) and 24-32 (girls).
Edith Zaragoza and Erika Ochoa finished the Girls' JV race 1-2 and Jonathan Contreras (4th) was the top Ike boy in the Boys' JV race.
